The North Carolina State Greek Village plan means chapters will own and operate their own homes on University-leased land. The Lambda Chi Alpha lot is reserved in the community’s third phase. Phase one is underway and includes the completed homes of Kappa Delta and Sigma Nu and the current construction of Delta Gamma and Sigma Phi Epsilon. Phase two will have two houses and reserve space for future development of University-owned townhomes for smaller Greek chapters. Lambda Chi Alpha is one of four houses planned for Phase three, which will begin infrastructure development in 2018. The neighbors in phase three will all be sororities. Expected move in date is fall 2021. The conceptual floor plans for the home were designed by Carl Winstead GU#901 and his architectural firm. They’ve designed a home that will be appealing to all members of the brotherhood and remain competitive with what the University and independently-owned apartment complexes are offering near campus. Because of the success of a vigorous fundraising campaign, the new house will be composed of:
-
Dining room with seating capacity for all brothers
-
Walk out porch from dining room
-
Live-in advisor suite with separate entrance
-
Fully ADA compliant
-
Suite-style living with shared bathroom space maximizes student privacy while maintaining community-style living
-
TV/study lounge with walkout porch with access to ground level in the back of the house
-
Sleeping rooms separated from common social space for privacy and security
-
Total house sleeping capacity approximately 35-40
-
Additional, well-lit study rooms available on both residential floors for group study work
